Farm-To-Table Initiative 

                Recently, the Gunnison Valley Farm-To-Table Conference was held at Western State Colorado University to bring together local producers, consumers, restaurant and market owners, and community leaders to address where our food comes from, comparing the industrial commercial farming markets to local food sources purchased by the consumer base. The key points addressed by the panel were a disconnect through education (commercial to organic farming) to the consumer base of the quality, locality, and distribution of food (import to regional food sources).

 Problems addressed: no local food infrastructure, a cultural consumer gap (who is our farmer, what’s in our food), lost cooking and preparation skills. Example: cooking from scratch, gardening, canning, preserving foods, convenient shopping,  government regulations limiting the local producers, food markets under contracts with global marketed corporations with no access to the conventional consumer. In the film Ingredients, were a positive exploration of the possibilities of what world we could have if the consumer base is educated having the choice of what food they choose to eat. The film’s key point noted that the chefs and the consumer determine the industry which supplies our food. Consumers are driven mainly by price point, driving the industrial food market to provide the cheapest quality and quantity at the expensive of nutrition to the explosion of both animal and human disease. Furthermore, the films states most seeds are controlled by three global corporations and if continued the consolidating to one hundred percent is in our near future unless local small organic farms are maintained and supported by the local food consumers.

                The local Colorado panel addressed that the Colorado agricultural land is diminishing from 8000 archers (ex: apple production, 1990) to 1000 archers in which the global market can distribute one ton of apples at twenty dollars compared to the local Colorado farmer of fifty dollars per ton to the local market. Furthermore, the panel noted that the U.S. agricultural lands is currently at  2%  and is at the mercy of public opinion and government control regulation encouraging imports which have increased fourfold in the last decade. The current trend in Colorado expressed by Dr. Dawn Thilmany of CSU Agriculture and Resource Economist is encouraging. She noted the consumer psychology has changed in the relationship of food quality (from industrial food supplier), impacted of local economy (using local farmers) was gaining importance to the food purchaser. The Colorado Farm to School initiative, started in 2010, has been adopted by many of the Colorado school districts within 2 years due in large part of local people making the difference for their children with the help of new school greenhouses. 

The consumer surveys showed that 22% of homeowners supply twenty percent or more of their own food by private gardens with the remainder of the possibility of no access or the lack of education of food sustainability.  Colorado colleges (noted: Fort Lewis) are developing local incubation centers (using private and government lands) to train and develop the organic farming practices to future farming leaders through stipend funds. The overall point: if we do not change and educate the public on sustainable foods, we can lose access to organic foods and farming and be under the control of multinational suppliers mainly money as motive.

Remember, the only vote that counts is how we spend the DOLLAR which the market follows the trends in how we spend. The Change is up to us.

Life by Distilled Water

The questions that are  raised when dealing with Distilled Water! Does it leach minerals from the Body? Is it safe to drink? Is not distilled water acid based? I thought distilled water was dead water?

I have research this topic for close to four years plus, and I have come to a strong conclusion through documented research and experience distilled water is one of the best and safest forms of water we can drink (depending upon the source)other than the ideal source of water  from the juice of organic vegetables and fruits.  The websites that make the claim distilled water will shorten our life, drinking acid water, leach organic minerals from our bodies are not back up with solid forms of quality research (if any) but mainly use their titles as the word of truth or to promote their products at the expense of real facts.


However, the disinformation can be traced to a research scientist from the Soviet Union. “The origins of this misconception reach back to studies conducted in the former Soviet Union between 15 and 30 years ago that were summarized in an article that came to the attention of the World Health Organization (WHO). WHO released an unofficial summary of the article (without additional research or follow-up) in 1980 entitled "Guidelines on Health Aspects of Water Desalination" by G.I. Sidorenko and Y.A. Rachmanin. (Canadian WQA)

The best example of distilled water’s lack of harm and its benefits is Dr. Norman W. Walker who lived until the age of 117 and who was probably the earliest and most forceful advocate of distilled water.  Distilled water leeches out inorganic minerals which should be a boon to arthritis and rheumatism sufferers. Dr. Charles McFerrin, writing in July 1955 issue of “Nature’s Path,” writes: “Distilled water is ‘empty’ water — a hungry water, a water capable of absorbing body poisons. You have had the experience of trying to use an old post office blotter on the desk. Everybody had used it and it is so full of ink that it will not suck up any more. So it is with a ‘full’ water, a water full of chlorine, aluminum, etc. Such water does not have the capacity of absorbing body impurities” (Rethinking Cancer).



When serving in the U.S. Navy aboard ship I survived just fine through the distillation process for drinking water, which had over 40 years of experience. In all these years, high-purity  water has not been noticed or documented to produce any negative effects and the Navy Surgeon General's office has stated, for the record, that no ill effects occur from drinking low TDS water. The people on Kidney dialysis can only use distilled water for their condition! Why are they not dying of demineralization from the so-called dead water? In addition, the Saudi Arabian government, the largest distillation process in the world supplying over 50% of its population (SWCC),  has the distillation process down to a solid science for decades are the Arabs suffering from demineralization and bone disease?

The marketed belief that we have been sold  is that we get our minerals from natural spring water. NOT TRUE, we get our minerals from plant based foods designed to receive rich organic bio-available minerals from the soil. Spring water deposits its inorganic minerals that are not bio-available to our system depositing them in our joints, tissues, and blood stream until they are chelated out. What happens when we do drink distilled water, it’s the water that chelates these inorganic minerals and flushes them out of our system. It is these inorgainic minerals observed in the urine which have been seen then claiming demineralization from our bones, etc.

Dr. Rudy Davis of Bayside Natural Health Center in New Brunswick, Canada used a simple idea to settle this in his own practice and mind. He distilled normal tap water over a period of time and recorded the mineral residue deposits. His clients using distilled water during the detoxifying process kept the results of the mineral deposits left in the urine as the body flushed discovering them to be the same as the inorganic mineral residue from the tap water. No evidence of any organic leached minerals as some would claim. However, noted the average person can be consuming up to 25 lbs of inorganic undissolved minerals every year by tap and bottled water consumption.

ORGANIC MINERALS VS. INORGANIC MINERALS

There are two types of minerals, organic and inorganic. Human physiology has a biological affinity for organic minerals. A growing plant converts the inorganic minerals from the soils to a useful organic mineral in the body to use. When an organic mineral (from a plant food) enters the stomach, it must attach itself to a specific protein-molecule (chelation) in order to be absorbed, then it gains access to the tissue sites where it is needed. Once a plant mineral is divested within the body, it is utilized as a coenzyme for composing body fluids, forming blood and bone cells, and the maintaining of healthy nerve transmission (Balch and Balch 1990).

Tap water presents a variety of inorganic minerals which our body has difficulty absorbing. Their presence is suspect in a wide array of degenerative diseases, such as hardening of the arteries, arthritis, kidney stones, gall stones, glaucoma, cataracts, hearing loss, emphysema, diabetes, and obesity. What minerals are available, especially in hard tap water, are poorly absorbed, or rejected by cellular tissue sites, and if not evacuated, their presence may cause arterial obstruction, and internal damage (Dennison 1993, Muehling 1994, Banik 1989). A 1986 project sponsored by the US EPA in San Ysidro, New Mexico, offers an additional rebuttal to the Soviet studies. R.O. (reverse osmosis) units were installed in the homes in this small town in order to reduce a high level of arsenic in the water supply. In addition to reducing arsenic levels, the units reduced the TDS level in the water from 800 mg/L to approximately 40 mg/L (Distilled Water).

According to Dr. Thomas J. Sorg, the EPA officer in charge of the project, there were no harmful effects observed in the subjects who drank the water. The project lasted an entire year. Finally, WQA commissioned Lee T. Rozelle, Ph.D. to conduct an extensive information search to find any other published findings on this issue. The results of the search supported the position that low TDS water was not harmful to the individual. (Canadian WQA).

Death by  Medicine (
Allopathic)

Problems facing many Americans:

Last year the American people approximately spent 2.8 trillion dollars on health care, and it is being projected that Americans will spend 4.5 trillion dollars on health care in 2019.  During 2013, Americans will spend more than 280 billion dollars just on prescription drugs.  The 2003 medical report, Death by Medicine, by Drs. Gary Null, Carolyn Dean, Martin Feldman, Debora Rasio and Dorothy Smith, 783,936 people in the United States die every year from conventional medicine mistakes.  Approximately 16,000 new IRS agents will be hired to help oversee the implementation of Obamacare, and the Obama administration has given the IRS 500 million extra dollars "outside the normal appropriations process" to help the IRS with their new duties.


From that statistic, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and CDC, adverse drug reactions from pain-killer drugs that are properly prescribed and properly administered cause about 106,000 deaths per year, making prescription drugs the fourth-leading cause of death in the U.S. With the death rate under 800,000, additionally more than 2.2 million people visit U.S. emergency rooms each year as a result of adverse drug reactions bring the total to an average of 3 million Americans per year affected by pharmaceutical drugs and their interactions.


·        Polypharmacy, which refers to the poisonous chemical cocktail of multiple drugs that many people are taking, is an increasing health concern not just for the elderly, but for everyone. Dr. Michael Stern, a specialist in geriatric emergency medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, told the New York Times“Polypharmacy is responsible for up to 28 percent of hospital admissions and, if it were classified as such, it would be the fifth leading cause of death in the United States.”

According to “Archives of Internal Medicine”, to put this in perspective, in 1994, one year this data was collected, Americans spent over $73 billion on prescription drugs. This averages out to $292 per person to buy the drugs and an additional $306 to treat the adverse effects of using these drugs. That’s about $600 for every American man, woman, and child in the U.S.A.  A study of 1,580 cases tracked at a single hospital over a year shows that adverse drug events were involved in 2.4 per 100 admissions, producing an additional hospital stay of 1.9 days, costing $2,262, and increasing the risk of death by 1.88 - a nearly twofold increase. Out of 91,574 patients admitted to a single hospital over a three-year period, 2.43% (2,227) experienced adverse drug events. Remember this was from 1994

Thermo-Therapy

Diseased cells have little blood flow leading to a severe acidic state, due to a low oxygen content high hydrogen ion concentration. By helping the body rid itself of the excess hydrogen ions and raising body temperature, resistance is futile for the cancer and disease cells when it is constantly bombarded with thermotherapy. 

Also note by the use of the Multi-Wave Osculation which increases and supplies the body with negative ion helping the cells return to normal operation. Increasing the level of negative ions entering the body, raises the "alkali level within the blood," and also supports the "waste clearance system."

Japan has been a leader when it comes to thermotherapy. Hyperthermia [raising body temperature] treatment effects are well known because of the research done by professors at Sugawara Kyoto University. When the body is supported by a strong immune system, it naturally moves in a curative direction on its own. Dr. Yoshimizu writes that "thermotherapy is required in order to change the body into a curative state."

Thermotherapy creates "heat shock protein," which protects cells from thermal stress, when thermal stress is applied. The brain responds by creating endorphins alleviating pain, and with thermotherapy cancer patients are able to proceed without any morphine.

Professor Itoyoko Jun of Aichi Medical University, wrote the book "HSP [heat shock protein] Cures Disease." He explains it like this: when trauma, disease and stress proteins are damaged; necrosis and apoptosis are two methods of cell death. HSP is the counter-measures by fixing defective proteins, inhibits necrosis and apoptosis and strengthens the cell's life force; HSP increases with thermotherapy; cells become stronger when heated.

Low body temperature or "hypothermia" is a symptom of a compromised immune system. Hypothermia is due to poor blood circulation and blood vessel constriction and is many times the result of stress, diet and other environmental factors. Hypothermia reduces enzymatic activity, allowing cancer and disease proliferation.

An enhanced thermotherapy effect occurs through the increase of serotonin and heat shock protein when thermotherapy is applied directly to the abdominal area. Research shows that serotonin, a neurotransmitter that exists in the brain also exists in the intestines. It is also well known that 90% of the serotonin exists in the small intestine. Our intestine uses the neurotransmitter, serotonin, to balance the active immune functions of our body.

There are over five hundred different types and one hundred trillion bacilli living inside our intestines. Among these, there exist beneficial bacteria such as bifidus and lactic acid bacillus, and also harmful bacteria such as clostridium perfringens, bacillus and staphylococcus, our level of immunity increases, while the increase of harmful bacteria leads to the decrease of immunity level.

"It is well known," Dr. Yoshimizu says, "that disease cells are heat-sensitive." again stating, "a one-degree increase in body temperature results in a 40% increase in immunity!" Proteins denature at 105-106 degrees. The key is to keep the head cool by application when raising body temperatures to destroy the diseased cells.

When you get sick with a cold or flu, your body's natural response is to raise your temperature to kill the cold or flu that has invaded it. That temperature raising of the body often makes you feel worse, because you have an overload of toxins that need to be dumped, and that is why you often times throw up or get diarrhea. The body is dispelling the toxins.
When body temperature is decreased by just one degree, the immune system declines by 36%, basic metabolism declines by 12%, and enzyme activity declines by 50%.

Western medicine uses the disease model a symptomatic response, but does not go to the root of the cause and function of the disease and why it exist. Dr. Yoshimizu reveals that as far back as the late 1960's "thermotherapy" was used for cancer patients, here in the United States. There was even a symposium on thermotherapy and radiation in the mid 1970's by the National Cancer Institute. During that symposium, it was revealed that "thermotherapy showed promising effects on cancer that did not respond to radiation!"

Hydro -Therapy

The use of water in the help overcome disease is as old as the practice of medicine. Records of the writing of Hippocrates indicate its use as early as 450 B.C. Hydrotherapy was used extensively in the Roman baths but interest in water therapies waned during the dark ages. John Wesley published a book entitled, Primitive Physick, which included many old remedies. He suggested water applications for conditions such as asthma, colds, colic, rickets, headaches, whooping cough, rheumatism, swelling, and sciatic. Wesley referred to hydrotherapy as “an easy and natural way of curing most disease.”

Vincent Priessnitz (1799-1851) is known as the father of hydrotherapy. When he was a young man, he was seriously injured by a farm animal and the physicians help out no hope for his recovery. Preissnitz decided to treat himself as he had previously treated injured farm animals. His method – hydrotherapy. After a rapid recovery he started experimenting with other treatments and found that sweat baths, cold baths, wet sheet packs, and many other local water treatments were of tremendous benefit for a variety of different health problems. He established a hydrotherapy institute in Austria. Many came to learn of his methods.

Modern hydrotherapy can also be traced in 19th century Europe with the development of spas for "water cure" ailments, ranging from anxiety to pneumonia to back pain. Father Sebastian Kneipp, a 19th century Bavarian monk, spurred a movement to recognize the benefits of hydrotherapy which he learned from Preissnitz. His methods were later adopted by Benedict Lust who immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1896, and founded an American school of naturopathic medicine.  This coincided with Dr. John Kellogg at the Western Health Reform Institute (which was renamed to Battle Creek Sanitarium) which was practicing hydrotherapy in Battle Creek Michigan noted in his book, Rational Hydrotherapy. Lust claimed to have cured himself of tuberculosis with Kneipp's methods, and hydrotherapy was included as a component of naturopathic medicine. In modern times, a wide variety of water-related therapies are used.

During the mid 1850’s a number of water-cure institutes were established in the United States. One of these was established in New Jersey by Dr. Thatcher Trall. He was the editor of a popular magazine entitled “The Water Cure Journal.” This magazine did much to educate lay people regarding the cause of disease and the preference of simple measures to drugs. Dr. James Jackson conducted another of these institutes. He took over a water cure establishment located in Danville, NY and made it famous.

After twenty years of practicing as a physician, he wrote: “In my entire practice I have never given a dose of medicine; not so much as I should have administered had I taken a naturopathic pellet of the seventh-millionth dilution, and dissolving it in Lake Superior, given my patients of its waters…. I have used in the treatment of my patients the following – air, food, water, sunlight, dress, exercise, sleep, rest, social influences, and mental and moral forces. On the other hand I have treated every variety of chronic diseases known to the medical men of North America and have also treated a very large number of the acute disease known to them. My success has been such as to justify the statement that at least ninety-five percent of all who have come under my professional supervision have been so helped during the time they stayed with me or have been so thoroughly cured while under my care as to be perfectly satisfied with the benefits received” (How to Treat the Sick without Medicine. Pages 25,26).

In 1919 a great flu epidemic killed an estimated 25 million people. The Battle Creek Sanitarium used hydrotherapy along with judicious nursing to treat the flu, and those who received this care survived. During this time Simon Baruch wrote of this event: “Of all remedial agents in use since the dawn of medicine, water is the only one what has survived all the vicissitudes of doctrinal changes because its rise or fall was always contemporaneous with the rise and fall of intelligence among medical men. (Physical Medicine, 1941 by Krussen)

Hydrotherapy has been used historically for the help of symptoms related to rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Multiple studies have been published, largely based on therapy given at Dead Sea spa sites in Israel. There is preliminary evidence that some hydrotherapy techniques may reduce bacteria on the surface of the skin.

Hydrotherapy is used in Europe for chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a syndrome that may include leg swelling, varicose veins, leg pain, itching, and skin ulcers. A small number of trials have applied cold water stimulation alone or in combination with warm water, and reported improvements in cramps and itching when compared to no therapy.

Today, sadly only a few small conditioning centers or lifestyle centers practice hydrotherapy. Come and experience the true healing power of water.

* Vitamin A acts as an antioxidant, helping to protect the cells and is necessary for new cell growth. It guards against heart disease and stroke, and lowers cholesterol levels. This important vitamin also slows the aging process. Protein cannot be utilized by the body without vitamin A. Vitamin A is a well-known wrinkle eliminator , as well as skin disorders, such as acne.

 * The B vitamins help maintain the health of nerves, skin, eyes, hair, liver, and mouth, and the repair of RNA and DNA which also maintains healthy muscle tone in the gastrointestinal tract. Alzheimer's disease whose problems were later found to to be due to a deficiency of vitamin B12; also causes anemia and underweight, and is also needed to make DNA. B complex  are required for normal brain function, cognitive activity, and aid in energy production. Thyroid Recovery Therapy

Major symptoms of iodine deficiency are type II diabetes , (has to do with the iodine Tyrosine receptors to utilize insulin) hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, fibrocystic disease, fibrocystic breast disease, breast cancer, cancer in general, intestinal dysboisis, reduced cellular metabolism, infertility, obesity and prostate cancer. As well as Dry hair, Skin, and Eyes, the lack of iodine cause the inability to sweat properly, a precursor to cancer.

Two Major Thyroid Disorders – Hashimoto’s and Graves Disease. But the unseen disorders are most cancers, brain fog, fatigue etc.  Proper utilization of iodine has to do with the interaction of hydrogen peroxide with thyroperoxidase (TPO). When the body is deficient in iodine the body will struggle to absorb magnesium, selenium as with the vitamin A & D especially. Vitamin A is required for DNA and RNA synthesis (gene transcription), and new cell growth. Magnesium ions are what controls Polymerase & the RNA strand in DNA to Protein synthesis.  

Zinc and copper are required in adequate form to convert the T4 (inactive form) to T3 (active form) which needs to be utilized by the cell for iodine to be effective. Just because a blood test shows adequate supply of TSH and T4 or T3, but the temperature is below 97.6 in the morning, no sweating, cancer etc., the body is not utilizing T3 in the cell properly. Let alone the lack of magnesium, calcium, potassium, sodium chloride, zinc the major buffering agents of alkalization.

The enzyme which is required for proper utilization of iodine in the cell is CoQ10, (which the cell receptors needs to be stimulated with Vitamin C) which is made by the body when it has adequate supply of selenium. One of selenium’s main functions is to keep hydrogen peroxide in the cell reduced to H2O after it oxidizes iodide.  Meaning, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) production is essential for facilitating the oxidation of iodide to iodine in the cell. When hydrogen peroxide with its interrelation with thyroperoxidase (TPO) is overproduced can create anti-TPO which attacks and destroys the thyroid tissue causing the autoimmune Hashimoto’s disease. When selenium is deficient, it can impair this defense mechanism. Also the body produces hydrogen peroxide and peroxidase in search for iodine when the body is deficient which damages the tissue.

It is iodinated lipids such as g – Iodalactone, which regulates and promotes Apoptosis in the cell. Meaning, cancer cells grow out of control, the controlling mechanism of cell suicide (apoptosis) has failed due to cell malfunction. Since the body is deficient in iodine, the cell loses the ability to govern itself, to destroy itself, when it becomes cancerous.

The other major problem is the high quantities of Chloride, Fluoride, and Bromide in our diets which are very close in the chemical structure of iodine. These halogens attaches to the thyroid receptors replacing iodine when it is weak. Causing many disorders which have other names of disease located in different regions of the body. Also these halogens poison the enzymes responsible for the utilization of iodine.

Bromide is found today in most commercial breads, (brominated vegetable oil) hot tubs, gatorade, sodas or most citrus flavored drinks. It is a dangerous chemical which needs to be avoided. Proper Iodine and its mineral support with Vitamin D can be a powerful force against disease, especially cancer.

Fluoride binds very easily to aluminium, which stimulates G-proteins which are located on the cells for cell communication  This reaction created cells to increase cancer cell growth by 25% (Japanese studies of fluoridation). Fluoride removes zinc levels in the body, especially from the brain which controls over 300 enzyme reactions for normal functions.
